Orthotic and Prosthetic Technology Instructor (Leestown Campus)

Full-time twelve-month faculty appointment in the Skilled Trades Division. The primary teaching assignment is for the Leestown Campus and requires flexibility of scheduling, which may include evenings and weekends.

 

This position also includes all Coordinator responsibilities for the Orthotic & Prosthetic Program. The Coordinator will lead the establishment of the lab, advisory committee & accreditation through CAAHEP/NCOPE for this new academic program for the Orthotic & Prosthetic Technology Associate of Applied Science Program. The Coordinator is responsible for the program’s daily operations, class scheduling, recruitment of students, program reviews/evaluations, identification of adjunct faculty as needed, and maintaining and building community partnerships. The Instructor/Program Coordinator must ensure that all clinical affiliates/clinical education centers' effectiveness is maintained.

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, with an advanced degree preferred.
  • Credentialed in the profession of Orthotics and/or Prosthetics by a national credentialing organization that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or hold a professional license as required by the state.
  • Five years teaching, clinical, and administrative experience in the profession related to orthotics and prosthetics.
