Industrial Maintenance Lecturer (Georgetown Campus)

This is a ten-month, faculty/lecturer appointment in the Advanced Manufacturing  Division. The primary teaching assignment is for the BCTC Georgetown Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMC) Campus. The position requires flexibility of scheduling, which may include evenings, weekends, and a variety of campus locations.

Duties/responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Classroom, online and laboratory instruction related to Industrial / Manufacturing Maintenance Environment’s including but not limited to A.C and D.C Electrical Concepts and Fundamentals, Electronic Circuits and Devices, Robotics, Programmable Logic Controllers, Electric Motor Controls, and Fluid Power.
  • Provides instruction to students in both theory and practice of the various aspects of industrial maintenance technology and related subject areas.
  • Prepares lesson plans, maintains records, and reports on student attainment and progress.
  • Willing to participate in Professional Development Activities
  • Develop and maintain working relationship with local industry(s)
  • Set example of appropriate dress and professional behaviors for students
  • Enforce high expectations related to safety, student dress, and professional behaviors including punctuality - respect for leadership – teamwork – written and verbal communication skills.
  • Maintain order and discipline in the teaching/learning environment
  • Understand and implement workplace organization (5s) standards

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Associates Degree and four (4) years of work experience in the teaching discipline or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the teaching discipline or related field and three years of work experience in the teaching discipline or related field.
  • Successful candidate should possess excellent computer and communication/presentation skills in order to develop and deliver online program-related courses, and in-person laboratory experiences.
