The English as a Second Language Department of Jefferson Community and Technical College has openings for English as a Second Language (ESL) Adjuncts.

*Please note that this is an adjunct pool.   Applicants will be contacted as needed.    

The primary responsibilities of these positions are to teach courses, maintain office hours for mentoring and coaching students, success and retention activities, and utilization of a learning management system such as Blackboard for communication and feedback.   There are day, evening and some online classes available.  

 

 Master’s degree in  discipline or a related field with 18 graduate hours in the discipline required.  Candidates who have experience with intersectional, inclusive instruction, and with a demonstrated ability to incorporate diverse perspectives into teaching and student engagement are encouraged to identify those experiences in the application materials. Candidates should also have experience and sensitivity working with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds and a commitment to fostering an inclusive work and learning environment in which students from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and personal experiences are welcomed and can thrive.  

Jefferson Community and Technical College, based in Louisville, Ky., is the largest of 16 colleges forming the Kentucky Community and Technical College System. It encompasses six campuses in four counties with over 12,000 students enrolled on campus and in on-line programs.
