The Workforce Solutions Department of Jefferson Community and Technical College is seeking Lineman Adjuncts.  

 

 JCTC is seeking a Lineman Technician Adjunct to instruct, coordinate, promote, and deliver Lineman training and instruction for students.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Teach JCTC Lineman course curriculum.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of and compliance with the Electrical Utility Safety Rules and procedures.
  • Maintain the program’s equipment and lab facilities and complete reports for the program. 
  • Recruit and advise students about the job market and the Lineman Program.
  • Maintain, and improve through professional development, competence in discipline knowledge and instructional techniques and capabilities.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Salary based on qualifications and experience.

 

  •  Associate’s degree (related field), and three years related operating experience, or equivalent (High School Diploma/GED and 5 years related operating experience)
  • Ten years working as a Lineman in the Electrical Utility field
  • Possess a current CDL-A license
  • Minimum of one year supervisory experience
  • Excellent organizational skills; high attention to detail; self-motivated; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to be an effective communicator (oral and written communications) with parents, students, and industry, representing JCTC’s Lineman Center in a professional and courteous manner
  • Ability to utilize different methods and mediums for delivering course material
  • Proven educational or administrative experience in critical thinking, problem solving, and judgment skills

Preference will be given to applicants with experience in a classroom setting.

Candidates who have experience with intersectional, inclusive instruction and with a demonstrated ability to incorporate diverse perspectives into teaching and student engagement are encouraged to identify those experiences in the application materials.  Candidates should also have experience and sensitivity working with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds and a commitment to fostering an inclusive work and learning environment in which students from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and personal experiences are welcomed and can thrive.
