Coordinator of Institutional Effectiveness (Band 9) - Newtown Campus

This position assists the Dean of Institutional Effectiveness with the primary objectives of the office: ensuring the college meets federal and state requirements for institutions of higher education; designing data collection/analysis/reporting tools to support the college’s mission and operations; researching appropriate databases to provide statistical information for the College.  Provides useful data in understandable and presentable formats to college administrators, faculty and staff for decision-making and informational purposes. The emphasis for this position is on data collection/analysis/reporting, as well as assisting the Director of Institutional Planning, Research, and Effectiveness with administrative and project-related duties as needed.

  1. Conducts research for the college including but not limited to surveys, data requests, economic trending, enrollments, demographics, and performance metrics.
  2. Responds to ad hoc requests for research and data analysis.
  3. Compiles, manipulates, and analyzes data sets using a variety of software and data extraction tools.
  4. Creates custom dashboards and institutional research reports from a database environment.
  5. Works with faculty and staff to create surveys and needs analysis studies.
  6. Designs survey instruments and analyzes the data gathered.
  7. Develops and maintains the IPRE web pages.
  8. Designs evaluation instruments & systems as needed.
  9. Creates and maintains databases for tracking data as needed.
  10. Assists with program health reviews, institutional planning, assessment, and accreditation activities.
  11. Participates in committees, work groups, and professional development activities.
  12. Completes continuing professional development through supervisor approved learning opportunities.
  13. Completes other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (Social Science, Statistics, or related field) and two years of related experience, or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office; proficiency in Excel.
  • Masters degree in related field preferred.
  • Related coursework or experience in quantitative and/or qualitative research methods, program evaluation, assessment, or higher education preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience working with relational databases.
  • Ability to analyze data and prepare presentations and reports.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Commitment to the mission of the community and technical college.
