Student Success Hub Peer Mentor (Temporary Part-time) - Students Only

Bluegrass Community & Technical College’s Peer Mentors are experienced students who help students adapt to college life. Peer mentors will also provide workshops to students on topics such as study skills, time management, test-taking, etc. The person in this position will spend most of their time working with and helping other students.  Students interested in developing leadership and communication skills are highly encouraged to apply. Training will be provided.

  1. Serve as a mentor to assigned students.
  2. Be approachable and accessible to meet the needs of students.
  3. Help students adjust to college life by modeling successful academic and social behaviors.
  4. Direct other students to individuals, programs, or departments at BCTC related to their needs.
  5. Provide information, resources, and workshops for first year students.
  6. Provide student services, information, and workshops via social media.
  7. Assist students with tasks such as accessing Blackboard, learning to schedule classes, and more.
  8. Assist Student Success Hub staff with projects, initiatives, and events.

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Current BCTC student
  • Knowledgeable of campus policies and procedures
  • Willing to be highly involved on campus
