POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Asset Management Specialist position will provide support to the Director of Facilities & Fleet Management by conducting inventory checks of mobile fleet, equipment, and facilities on a regular and on-going basis. Reviews new vehicles and equipment for specification compliance, while ensuring proper upkeep of all vehicles, equipment and facilities. Prepares reports and other documents for asset management purposes.

This is a defined-term contract position renewable each fiscal year and is located in Paris, Kentucky. 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Travel to regional offices to conduct inventories of mobile fleet, equipment, and facilities.
  • Responsible for acceptance and inspections of new vehicles and equipment for specification compliance, including automobiles and firetrucks.
  • Responsible for vehicle, equipment and facility evaluation for repairs, maintenance, and replacement.
  • Responsible for facilities maintenance of the KY Fire Commission Paris Campus
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or GED and six (6) years of relevant experience or equivalent.

 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

Associate’s Degree and eight (8) years of relevant experience or equivalent.

 

Additional Skills or Abilities

Experience with Fleet/Asset Management and/or Building Maintenance/Construction. Must possess a Class A COL license or obtain one within 6 months. Proficiency with technology (including Microsoft Excel).

 

KY law requires state and national pre-employment background checks as a condition of employment.

Initial review of applicants will begin after April 21, 2022.
