We are accepting applications for a Director of Maintenance and Operations.  This position travels between all three campuses and is an important member of the management team that is responsible for providing leadership and coaching within the department and in all phases of building maintenance and operations while minimizing costs and utilizing human resources to their maximum potential. 

  • Addressing all physical site needs including but not limited to building interior, exterior and grounds
  • Assure compliance with all company policies, as well as local, state and federal regulations pertaining to maintenance and housekeeping
  • Use maintenance best practices to plan and implement effective procedures utilizing corrective maintenance, preventative maintenance, and predictive maintenance to insure overall campus integrity and HVAC operations
  • Schedule and document all maintenance activity
  • Work with suppliers to establish high product standards and favorable pricing
  • Maintain all business-critical records, documents and blueprints for building and asset management, etc.
  • Develop, support and champion a maintenance culture over three shifts that is focused on continuous improvement, positive morale and exceptional levels of customer service
  • Supervise and direct daily activities of the employees in the department to assure that each employee is properly instructed in the performance of their work including quantity and quality expectations, developing job skills and fostering positive attitudes to assure competency, safety, and productivity
  • Participate in the selection of high-quality maintenance personnel
  • Budget and inventory management with demonstrated ability to monitor and control expenditures to assure compliance with budgetary constraints
  • Supervise periodic analysis of work load to validate on-going preventive maintenance requirements
  • Meet as-needed with other instructional and institutional administrative/management personnel for planning, idea sharing, issue resolutions, operational communications, etc.
  • Design, implement and maintain local safety program including training

The qualified applicant will have a minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated management experience in a maintenance setting and excellent written and oral communication skills.  Preference will be given to an applicant with experience in managing employees over multiple shifts.  Applicant must have proven experience with all phases of maintenance, safety regulations, training experience and budget management.  Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is also required.  Preference may be given to an applicant with a bachelor’s degree in a related field. The position may also involve some evening, midnight and weekend activities as well as travel.
