Job Summary

This is a full-time, lecturer appointment in the Mathematics and Statistics Division. The position requires flexibility of scheduling and includes online and in person instruction at BCTC Newtown campus and occasional non-standard locations in Lexington, Georgetown, and Frankfort.

Job Duties:

This position will be responsible for teaching 36 credit hours annually. This includes creation, update, and delivery of course content, utilization of a learning management system such as Blackboard for communication and feedback, curriculum development, course design, and student outcome assessment. The position may require some non-standard start and end dates and teaching at locations in Lexington, Georgetown, and Frankfort.

Additional requirements are regular availability for students through office hours and any college/system required trainings.

Minimum Qualifications:

Mathematics Lecturer:

  • Master’s degree in Mathematics, OR
  • Master’s degree in a related field with at least 18 graduate hours in Mathematics

Statistics Lecturer:

  • Master’s degree in Statistics, OR
  • Master’s degree in Mathematics with at least 9 graduate hours in Statistics, OR
  • Master’s degree in a related field with at least 9 graduate hours in Statistics and 9 additional graduate hours in either Mathematics or Statistics (18 graduate hours total)  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Statistics instruction qualified

  • At least two years of teaching experience with both face-to-face and online formats

  • Experience with Blackboard, Stat Crunch, and other instructional technology
