Job Summary

The Adjunct Leadership Instructor delivers customized leadership training for business and industry partners through Gateway Community and Technical College Workforce Solutions. This role requires a dynamic and adaptable educator who can tailor content and delivery to meet the unique needs of adult learners and company goals.

Common session topics include Adapting/Developing Your Leadership Style, Communicating as a Manager, Developing Your Direct Reports, Navigating Difficult Conversations, Taking Control of Conflict, Creative Problem Solving, and other essential leadership skills focused on building high-performing teams and effective workplace communication.

Job Duties:

  • Deliver engaging, customized leadership training sessions aligned with the needs of business and industry partners.
  • Provide instruction that balances leadership theory with practical application relevant to today’s workplace.
  • Equip participants with essential leadership skills to improve team dynamics, communication, and problem-solving.
  • Adapt content and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning styles and organizational goals.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm, energy, and expertise in leadership development and adult learning principles.
  • Assist in the development and ongoing refinement of course materials and content.
  • Complete all required course documentation and administrative tasks in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the Workforce Solutions Program Manager to ensure training aligns with client expectations.
  • Prepare thoroughly for each session, ensuring a professional and impactful learning experience.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate daytime, evening, or on-site business training sessions.

  • Professional and courteous communication at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Clear verbal and written skills.
  • Efficiently prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word).
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred candidates would be able to teach at various levels.
  • Candidates should be energetic, enthusiastic and have an in-depth understanding of the principles of leadership.
  • Experience in and understanding with students from diverse populations.
  • Experience working at the community college level.
