Title: Grants Specialist III

Salary Range: $4,014 per month

Contract Term Length: 12 Months

Standard Hours: Minimum of 37.5 hours per week (8:00 am to 4:30 pm)

Work Location: On-Site

Job Summary

The primary purpose of the full time Grants Specialist III is to match external funding/support opportunities with the mission of the college and with faculty/staff who are the subject matter experts in the field. Responsible for the development of grants on campus. Collaborate with faculty, staff, and external agencies to aggressively pursue external grant funding.

Job Duties:

1. Research external funding possibilities for strategic priorities of Hopkinsville Community College.
2. Develop and write funding applications for the college.
3. Partner with faculty, staff, external agencies, and KCTCS System Office to seek additional funds to meet the needs of Hopkinsville Community College students.
4. Serve as coordinator for writing, editing, and reviewing grants content. Review requests for application documents and grant guidelines.
5. Assist faculty and staff with preparation of reports related to grants and contracts. Prepare support documents and grant budget, cognizant of KCTCS/HCC policy. Create templates of generic information for use in grants development. Maintain funded grant database. Work as liaison between college and funding agency. Seek opportunities to leverage private giving with grant opportunities.
6. Monitor compliance with grant agreement guidelines. Review grants and contracts for compliance with laws, regulations, and program policies.
7. Recommend appropriate action when evidence indicates grantee is not complying with the provisions of the grant.
8. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree and 4-6 years experience. Master’s degree preferred.
2. Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.
3. Demonstrated facilitation skills with faculty/staff and system office.
4. Demonstrated attention to detail.
5. Demonstrated excellent organizational skills.
