The Political Science Area at BCTC is seeking qualified part-time faculty for on-site classes at the Lawrenceburg, Danville, Georgetown, and/or Winchester campuses. * Additional qualifications to those listed below based on course subject may apply. While we are primarily seeking applicants to teach on-site, adjuncts may be asked to teach using any of the following modes of instruction:
• On-site with in-person meetings two days per week,
• Hybrid with in-person meetings on-site one day per week paired with online instruction, and/or
• Online/asynchronous with no required on-site, in-person meetings.
Job Duties:
Prepare and deliver course syllabi, lectures and/or labs relevant to the course description and
student learning outcomes (Course and if applicable General Education).
Develop individual, and contribute to the creation of common, course assignments (discussions,
written work, research exercises, quizzes, exams, etc.) to evaluate student proficiency.
Maintain regular contact with students promptly answering student emails and messages.
Meet with students individually and/or in small groups to provide supplemental instruction, direction,
and feedback.
Provide an online course shell for students meeting minimum content and structure, including student access to syllabi and individual grades, for the mode of instruction.**
Maintain student grades and complete institutional student progress reports as directed.
Participate in the development, implementation, and reporting outcomes of program and course assessment.
Complete mandatory annual employment training.
Complete mandatory instructional training for mode of instruction, especially for instructors teaching in hybrid and/or online course modes of instruction.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Political Science, or Master’s degree (any subject) with 18 graduate hours in
