Job Summary
The Admission Officer’s primary function is processing a heavy volume of applications for admission and entering transcript data. The Officer provides administrative support in the review, evaluation, development and implementation of Student Development and Enrollment Management.
Job Duties:
Application and Transcript Evaluation & Processing –make judgment decisions within Senate Rules. Processes a large volume of applications submitted to the college. Consider requirements for each category of student (i.e. Readmit, Non-degree, etc.)
Work with the student information system to alter, correct, or record additional data on an applicant and record admissions decisions. Verify accuracy of application and document data.
Address all errors as according to CPE Edit Reports.
Conduct audit of all documents at the end of each registration and CPE reporting term.
Collect, input, and maintain official transcripts for students' permanent records.
Meet and counsel prospective students and parents about admissions procedures. Correspond to applicants regarding inquiries about BCTC.
Scan all documents and upload to student permanent file
Assist with covering the front desk as needed.
Make initial Residency decision.
Assist with Registration and Freshman Orientation.
Serve as support to the Associate Dean of Admissions and Director of Admissions
Personal and Professional Development - Attend workshops as associated with the Kentucky Association for Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (KACRAO) and other workshops, meetings, lectures, etc. as needed to enhance professional growth.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree (related field) and three years related work experience, or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
Extensive date entry skills, Excel, Word, and Outlook experience
