Job Summary

The Adult Education Specialist II position will provide contextualized, academic instruction to Adult Education students. The selected candidate will provide instruction in literacy, adult basic education, GED test preparation, English language acquisition, and workforce preparation. This position will also require recruitment of students to outreach centers within Magoffin County.

  • Job Duties:
  • Instruct students preparing to take the GED test.
  • Interact and communicate with Data/Assessment Specialist and Career Navigator to monitor progress of students.
  • Maintain student records, attend staff meetings, complete the required professional development.
  • Student recruitment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to speak clearly and concisely in written and oral communication with diverse audiences.
  • Organizational skills are a must.
  • Ability to use computer and applicable software.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Education or content-related field and two (2) years of related experience or equivalent for experience only.

Must score within NRS Level 6 on the 11/12 TABE A or within three (3) months of hire.

Ability to travel between sites is required or work at other sites as needed. 

Preferred Qualifications:

A current teaching certificate in the content area of instruction is preferred.
