Job Summary
This position serves as a key ambassador for the college and helps strengthen relationships with alumni, donors, students, community partners, and supporters throughout the region. The coordinator assists with advancement events, donor stewardship activities, alumni engagement initiatives, constituent communications, and storytelling efforts that support the mission and visibility of the college and the Southeast Education Foundation.
Job Duties:
Donor & Alumni Engagement
• Assist with donor cultivation and stewardship activities, including thank-you correspondence, donor recognition, personalized outreach, and engagement follow-up.
• Support alumni outreach initiatives, alumni communications, and alumni event planning.
• Maintain positive relationships with donors, alumni, retirees, community supporters, and volunteers.
• Assist with sponsorship outreach and community partnership engagement.
• Support stewardship reporting and donor impact communications.
Events & Community Relations
• Coordinate advancement and community engagement events, including scholarship receptions, donor events, alumni gatherings, golf tournaments, ribbon cuttings, campus celebrations, and Foundation activities.
• Manage event logistics including scheduling, registrations, vendor coordination, setup, communications, and follow-up.
• Represent the college at community and campus events throughout the service region.
• Assist with volunteer coordination and constituent engagement opportunities.
Communications & Storytelling
• Help identify and gather students, alumni, faculty, and workforce success stories for use in marketing, fundraising, and public relations.
• Assist with advancement newsletters, donor communications, event promotions, and social media content.
• Conduct interviews, collect quotes, coordinate photos, and assist with storytelling initiatives.
• Support constituent communication efforts related to fundraising campaigns and engagement activities.
Administrative Support & Special Projects
• Assist with donor records, event tracking, engagement reports, and advancement databases.
• Support preparation of Foundation Board materials and advancement reports.
• Assist with special projects, mailings, and advancement initiatives as assigned.
• Coordinate timelines and communications for advancement-related projects and campaigns.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, business, nonprofit management, higher education, or related field; or equivalent experience.
Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in event planning, communications, fundraising support, alumni relations, public relations, customer relations, or community engagement.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in higher education, nonprofit organizations, fundraising, or alumni relations.
• Experience coordinating events and community outreach initiatives.
• Experience with social media, Canva, Microsoft Office, and donor or customer relationship management systems.
• Knowledge of rural community engagement and relationship-building.
