Job Summary
The Assessment and Testing Department of Jefferson Community & Technical College has an immediate opening for a full-time Assessment and Testing Assistant. The hours are 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday.
Job Duties:
Under the supervision of the Director of Assessment or the Manager on duty, the Testing assistant plays an integral role in daily operations, proctoring needs, and primary communication for the department.
This position is the first point of contact for the Downtown Assessment Center. This individual manages the reception desk, phone correspondence and daily responses to the main service email account.
Serves as proctor for Academic Testing for Reading, English, Math, ESL, and IC3
Leads students, often in groups, through the testing check-in process and proctors testing for several students testing at once.
Completes Opening and Closing Duties for the Assessment Office and well as testing rooms.
Cleans and sanitizes testing stations after each use and restocks testing supplies.
Pulls and Evaluates test scores during Check-out process answers questions regarding the next steps for enrollment.
Has a general working knowledge of computers, data entry, troubleshooting software, and office equipment.
Uses PeopleSoft, Microsoft word, excel and Eventbrite for regular job duties.
Provides a positive and welcoming environment for all testers and visitors in the office.
May require travel to other campuses in addition to weekend and/or weekend hours.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate Degree and three years related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates should have experience in an office setting or customer-service based job. Preferred experience in higher education and front desk management. Must have public speaking skills and the ability to communicate with students from diverse backgrounds. This position must show a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
