Salary Range: 41,880.00

Job Summary

Elizabethtown Community & Technical College is seeking a Career Services Counselor III to support the Military & Veteran/Service to Scholars Center (SSC) and provide excellent customer service for military-connected students and their families.

Job Duties:

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Planning and providing direct services and workshops to project participants to meet
educational advising, social, emotional, cultural, and career development needs.
• Conducts seminars on study skills development, career exploration, essential skills development, job search, and academic planning.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with pertinent stakeholders such as appropriate campus and
community leaders.
• Monitors academic skills records of participants and provide ongoing assessment of academic needs and goals.
Direct advisement services to participants on career planning, educational information, employment
information, financial aid and other areas consistent with the SSC project
• Facilitates presentations at open houses and other target area events.
• Conducts case management, inputs student data into the database, creates student files, regularly updates database and student files, assists in the preparation of reports, and consistently maintains accurate and updated contact logs with the veteran/military students.
• Maintains and protects the privacy of program participants and their files to ensure FERPA compliance with the College and the U.S. Department of Education.
• Attends in-house and external training workshops as possible.
• Assembles, collects, and reports data useful for project evaluation and assists the Project Coordinator in completing the Annual Performance Report.
• Demonstrated success in overcoming barriers similar to those of the target population.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Education/ Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (related field) and two years related experience, or equivalent (i.e. Master’s degree). 

Preferred Qualifications:

Successful candidates should demonstrate:
• Demonstrate familiarity with computer software, databases, purchasing, and budgets.
• Demonstrate success in overcoming barriers similar to those of the target population.
