Job Summary
ECTC is seeking an energetic Director of Military & Veteran Services who plans, organizes, directs, and implements activities and programs related to the success of active, transitioning, and retired military students and their dependents. The Director will establish and maintain positive relationships with the ECTC Fort Knox Center personnel, internal departments, area K-12 schools, business and industry, and military organizations.
Job Duties:
• Manage and supervise the daily operation of the Military & Veteran Services center.
• Identify external community-based organizations serving veterans; establish a network to recruit veterans to the College.
• Manage budgets associated with the Military and Veteran Service Center, including purchasing, documenting, and balancing accounts.
• In concert with student affairs, Fort Knox Center and external partners streamline communications and processes to provide a more seamless transition to the College.
• Assess unique military and veteran needs and collaborate with other College departments to implement teaching, learning, and support strategies to increase military and veteran student success.
• Develop promotional material for outreach to military organizations and prospective students in print, social media outlets, and online web pages.
• Maintain knowledge of current KCTCS, Department of Defense (DOD), Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA), Isakson & Roe, and other federal state legislation, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures pertaining to military and veteran student and dependent benefits.
• Support the College's military and veteran advisors and maintain records in compliance with federal and state requirements and in preparation for corresponding audits.
• Pursue external funding opportunities to enhance services in collaboration with the College’s Grant Office.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years related experience, or equivalent.

• Commitment to working with a diverse student population and the community and technical college mission.
• Knowledgeable about military and veteran needs and transitions.
• Knowledge of VA-ONCE, Military Education Software, and PeopleSoft.
• Ability to motivate and build collaborative relationships.
• Ability to be innovative and drive solutions.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Leadership skills.
