Job Summary

Elizabethtown Community & Technical College is seeking a professional tutor to assist students with the various steps of the writing process and lead writing workshops.

Job Duties:

Responsibilities will include:
• Provides writing tutoring services.
• Provides in-person and virtual tutoring.
• Assists students with various steps of the writing process.
• Teaches developmental writing strategies and conducts workshops on writing skills topics.
• Communicates with faculty to build rapport and visits classrooms to promote the learning lab
• Engages in on-going professional development related to best practices in writing tutoring.
• Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree (related field), and two years related experience, or an Associate’s Degree and four years experience.  

Preferred Qualifications:

Successful candidates should demonstrate:
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively on a team.
• Critical thinking skills to assess the skill level and abilities of students and provide appropriate assistance.
• Time management skills to be flexible and move between various assignments and duties.
• Strong organizational and people skills.
• Proficient computer skills, particularly in MS Word, MS Access, and MS Excel.
