Hazard Community & Technical College invites applications for the position of Instructor of Electrical Technologies. This position will provide classroom instruction, serve as program coordinator, advise students and additional services as needed to students interested in the Electrical Technologies courses and program. Review of applications will begin on December 1 2022.
Provide instruction related to electrical installations and maintenance meeting all standards and regulations for residential, commercial, and industrial industries.
Participate in curriculum development as needed for program improvement.
Enforce high expectations related to safety, student dress, professional behavior (including punctuality, respect for leadership, teamwork, and written/verbal communication skills).
Advise all Electrical Technology program students.
Provide graduation plans and upload/update all graduation plans in PeopleSoft.
Serve on committees (local/system).
Participate in activities to recruit for the program and to retain students in the program.
Participate in PD opportunities (instruction/advising)/maintain all electrical related licenses.
Serve as the Program Coordinator for the Electrical Technology Program and complete required tasks as needed.
Develop and maintain working relationships with local electrical industry(s) throughout the service region.
Maintain safety in the lab, organization of equipment and tools, and complete safety plan.
Plan and submit requisitions for program budget on required items for instruction each year.
An Associate's Degree plus four years related experience. Must hold an electrical license.
Candidates will have experience working with programmable logic controllers, basic and advanced motor controls, the National Electric Code, and be motivated to learn content and methodologies for teaching other program related content. Prefer experience in Hardware, Installation, Programming, Residential, Commercial, and Industrial electric industry.
