Salary Range: $$4,500 per month

Contract Term Length: 10 Months

Standard Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Job Summary

Effectively teach and coordinate Electrical Technology courses and serve as the program coordinator.

Job Duties:

• Effectively teach and coordinate Electrical Technology courses and serve as the program coordinator.
• Responsible for program effectiveness, including student learning outcomes, continuous review, assessment, and development.
• Create and actively engage all areas of the Electrical Technology sector’s academic initiatives to include any credential audits and apprenticeship relationships within the community.
• Provide for and be actively involved in on-going evaluations, development, and enhancement of Electrical Technology offerings.
• Develop strategic plan for improving the Electrical Technology program to include scheduling, recruitment efforts to draw students into the Electrical Technology program offerings, advising, and advisory board effectiveness.
• Maintain community relations within the service area, and oversee an active advisory council for the Electrical Technology Program.
• Participate in academic and student enhancement activities, including student advising.
• Maintain and improve, through professional development, competence in discipline knowledge and instructional techniques.
• Participate in internal and external service activities (college committees, system committees, community relations).
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associates degree in qualifying field (Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance Technology, Engineering Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology) and 3 years of experience as an industrial, residential, or commercial electrician.
• Demonstrated commitment to quality instruction, student learning, and instructional and institutional effectiveness.
• Demonstrated effective technology skills, communication skills (written and verbal), and organizational and human relations skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to the comprehensive community college concept and team management.
• Demonstrated commitment to the KCTCS/Hopkinsville Community College strategic plan.
 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master electrician license in the state of Kentucky (or eligible for licensure under reciprocity) and eight (8) years of experience as an electrician.
• Experience in residential wiring is preferred.
