Embedded tutoring places tutors in the class during scheduled class sessions under the instructor’s guidance and in one-on-one (and small group) tutoring sessions outside of the scheduled class time. This provides students with individualized assistance and support during and outside of class as well as enhances student engagement. Tutoring may take place on campus or online. Hiring for courses such as Biology, Chemistry, Math, English, Computer information Technology, and more.

Job Duties:
Establish contact with students early in the semester.
Attend embedded tutor trainings.
Attend planning meetings with course instructor during the first week of classes.
Provide tutoring during class/lab time.
Provide tutoring and other support services as needed outside of class.
Work according to instructor guidance to provide support for students. For example:
Help facilitate small group exercises or discussions such as peer review.
Assist students in learning how to effectively utilize technology such as MS Word, Blackboard, and library databases.
Schedule and facilitate tutoring sessions with students who require additional support.
Serve as a contact between instructor and students.
Serve as a mentor, helping students foster connections with support services, for example, the Tutoring Center.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED
Successful completion of equivalent course with a grade of A, or a letter of recommendation from a faculty member
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to discuss and explain concepts covered in combined Anatomy and Physiology courses
Skilled in interpersonal communication and a good understanding of conversational nuances
Flexible in the assistance they provide to students
Ability to navigate online platforms to facilitate virtual tutoring.
