Job Summary

The Executive Director of Technology Project Management will lead the Technology Solutions Project Management Office and facilitates project planning, prioritization, collaboration, resource planning/staffing, and reporting across groups to deliver successful project outcomes. This role demonstrates a thorough understanding of project management methodologies, as well as the ability to execute and interact with technology subject matter experts, business partners, and cross-functional teams to ensure strategic objectives are achieved.

The Executive Director of Technology Project Management will report to the Vice President and CIO. This role will work in close collaboration with all Technology Solutions leadership to ensure the focus remains on quality and timely delivery.

Job Duties:

Responsible for all aspects of the project management office – project intake and governance, project portfolio, project roadmap, PMO resources, PMO tools, stakeholders, project budgets, and reporting.

Lead cross-functional prioritization in support of enterprise technology portfolio, across demand management, shared services, business units, and functions.

Track and communicate progress, metrics, risks, alignment to roadmaps, and transparently escalate risks to leadership, external partners, and internal customers.

Define and drive the adoption of program and project management methodology.

Partner with academic and business colleagues to align Technology Solutions with digital business technology strategies, including new business models, products, or services.

Develops executive-level briefing material and associated analytics to guide program and project decision making.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and ten (10) years’ experience or equivalent 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree and fifteen (15) years’ experience or equivalent

Additional Skills Requested:

Experience in deploying and implementing secure enterprise technology systems in a complex environment that provide resilient and highly available services.

Experience in cloud or shared technology deployments among multiple institutions.

Proven experience in leading multiple large units as part of a larger complex and diverse organization and in fostering a positive team spirited technology culture.

Experience in the development of strategic and operational plans, and development of project goals and objectives.

Experience overseeing IT operations including budgeting, service/desktop support, and IT internal operations.

Experience working with IT service management frameworks including IT Asset Management, Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, and Knowledge Management; ITIL knowledge a plus.
