Official Title of Position: Health Science Technology (HST) Program Coordinator/ Faculty (Faculty Rank)
Minimum Monthly Salary: $45,000 annually – 10-month annual contract (Summer Stipend eligible)
Position Duties/Responsibilities:
• Professional RN with a positive attitude who enjoys teaching students and caring for the geriatric population.
• Effectively teach didactic, lab, and clinical allied health courses.
• Prepare for and conduct classes in an organized and efficient manner.
• Use PeopleSoft to post no shows, last day of attendance, and grades according to deadlines.
• Use Blackboard to post the syllabus, lecture notes, announcements, as well as other important information.
• Supervise and train students at assigned clinical site. Courses may include face-to-face day and evening, hybrid, accelerated, and online delivery modalities.
• Instruct students according to Curriculum Guidelines outlined by KCTCS and the syllabus.
• Coordinate the HST program in accordance with KCTCS and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate Kentucky Nurse Aide and Kentucky Medication Aide training and testing.
• Maintain all state required program documentation and classroom requirements.
• Plan and organize the day-to-day operation of the program.
• Manage and maintain budget for Health Science Technology Programs
• Must have strong work ethic and dedication to both student and program success.
• Maintain open and effective communication lines among administrators, faculty, staff, students, and community agencies.
• Promote and represent the program in the community and at KCTCS.
• Work closely with area health care professionals and community partners.
• Recruit and supervise adjunct faculty.
• Contact and manage clinical sites to negotiate contracts and secure approvals for clinical placement.
Faculty responsibilities include advising, committee work and other institutional service, community service, and professional development. The successful candidate must possess a strong commitment to student learning and will be receptive to using active and engaged teaching methods and technology in the classroom. In addition, candidates should demonstrate an interest in the mission of the comprehensive community college concept.
Position Requirements:
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university
• A minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience within the past ten (10) years
• A minimum of one (1) year of nursing clinical experience in the Long Term Care Setting
• A current unencumbered license, privilege, or temporary work permit to practice as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Kentucky
• Effective communication and technology skills; and a strong commitment to student success and team building
