Job Summary

Gateway Community and Technical College invites applications for a part-time (Gateway student only) Information Commons Assistant at one of our three campuses. This position will provide high-quality customer service, answer questions and address the needs of individuals who visit our campuses.

The Federal Work Study program provides funding for part-time employment to qualifying students. If you have unmet financial need as determined by the most recent FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), are enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at Gateway and have a GPA of at least 2.0, you may be eligible for FWS. Job Duties:

• Provide excellent customer service and share accurate information with students, staff, faculty and community.
  
• Connect individuals to appropriate departments, programs and resources, either in person or by phone/email.
  
• Document services are provided by correctly completing IC tickets.
  
• Sign up students to take placement tests by following written procedures.
  
• Copying, and putting informational packets together.
  
• Adhere to FERPA guidelines
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Comfortable use of computers and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  
• Great customer service skills – prior experience is a plus.
  
• Team player, flexible
  
• Dependable, able to stick to established work schedule
  
• Reliable transportation
