Job Summary

The Nursing Division of Jefferson Community and Technical College has an
opening for two Medical-Surgical Nursing Instructors for the Downtown campus.

Job Duties:

This position could have teaching responsibilities at all JCTC campuses which offer nursing courses and will have an evening commitment as part of the teaching load. This position will be responsible for full-time didactic and clinical instruction in the Nursing Program. Other duties include but are not limited to:
• Academic advising
• Course and curriculum development
• Internal and external community service
• Educational leadership and professional development.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Nursing with at least five years’ experience in Nursing 

Preferred Qualifications:

At least five years’ experience in Nursing (two of which should be in Nursing education at or above the ADN level) is preferred. Medical-surgical nursing experience is required within the last 5 years. Strong written and oral communication skills are required. Must be proficient with technology, including Microsoft Office Suite. Preference will be given to
qualified applicants with previous teaching experience, knowledge of nursing at the associate degree level, and leadership experience.
Experience in, and understanding of the importance of, working with students from diverse backgrounds required. The preferred candidates should also have experience and sensitivity working with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds and a commitment to fostering an inclusive work and learning environment in which students from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and personal experiences are welcomed and can thrive.
