Job Summary
Ashland Community and Technical College invites applications for the Chief Academic Officer. We are looking for a talented, innovative, collaborative leader to set and meet strategic academic goals. This position reports directly to the president and is part of the college cabinet.
Job Duties:
Duties include but are not limited to:
• Planning, development, implementation and evaluation of instructional units, distance learning, library, and enrollment with area high schools
• Ensuring the academic integrity of the college and encouraging ingenuity in the classroom
• Collaborating with student affairs and other departments to create a holistic approach to meeting student needs both inside and outside of the classroom
• Provide comprehensive academic leadership, including college-wide representation as well as representing the college at the system level
• Direct leadership of faculty and staff in academic departments.
• Ensuring that academic assessments and other accreditation documentation is completed
• Budget creation and management for the academic affairs area
• Facilitating effective academic processes and procedures that foster student success
• Orchestrating distributed leadership and leveraging talent within and outside the college to achieve mission and goals
Minimum Qualifications:
The desired applicant will be a proven leader with the ability to bring renewed focus on student success and academic innovation and have experience working with a variety of agencies, politics and personalities. Must be vested in shaping the workforce and economic development strengths of the college to meet the emerging needs of business and industry. Applicant must have strong leadership skills, integrity, creativity, energy, excellent communication skills, conflict resolution skills, experience with budget planning/management and experience working in a community college. A doctoral degree and progressive leadership experience are required.
