Job Summary

Gateway Community and Technical College invites applications for the Nurse Aid Adjunct Instructor. The Nurse Aid Adjunct Instructor will teach nurse aide classes and direct labs at various locations including the Edgewood Campus and Urban Center.

Job Duties:

• Provides didactic and clinical instruction for nurse aide students.
• Follows federal and state regulations and guidelines pertaining to the Medicaid Nurse Aide program.
• Keeps accurate and up-to-date records for the nurse aide program.
• Securely maintains tests and records.
• Identifies supplies needed to conduct class and lab.
• Schedules required clinical days with contracted long-term care facilities and attend clinical days with nurse aide students.
• Completes and maintains the required files and other pertinent records.
• Assists in determining clinical placement of students.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid KY nursing license (LPN, RN)
• 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year of experience in a facility that provides long-term care services, not limited to a nursing home; experience may include Transitional Care Unit (TCU) and/or other specialized units in a hospital.
• Successful completion of MOI course.

• Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with many individuals at all levels throughout the internal college environment as well as external business and community partners, representing his/her self in a professional and courteous manner.
• Ability to communicate clearly verbally and, in writing.
• Ability to multi-task, work under deadlines, and prioritize projects to meet deadlines with high levels of efficiency and accuracy.
• Must have proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse
• 2 years of nursing experience and more than one year of experience in a long-term care setting.
• Experience in and understanding of the importance of working with students from diverse populations.
• Experience working at the community college level.
