Job Summary

Provide peer-to-peer check-ins with selected math students via email, text, and/or phone, sharing encouragement and/or appropriate resources available on our campus for the student.

Job Duties:

Update excel spreadsheet each week with information about student conversations.

The Peer Guide will be provided all necessary details for student referrals and is NOT to provide tutoring assistance or counseling. Required meetings include weekly check-in with coordinator for that campus (to be arranged between the two of them) and weekly community-of-practice meeting with other Peer Guides.

The Peer Guide will be expected to work independently and will report regularly to a designated project coordinator for the College Algebra Success Project. Weekly time commitment can be anywhere between 5-10 hours a week. May include afternoon or evening hours. Training on related technologies and campus services can be provided as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be a current SKYCTC Student. Must be committed to student success, comfortable working with students who have learning challenges, and enthusiastic about working with students from diverse background.
