Job Summary
Hazard Community and Technical College invites applications for the position of Retention Coordinator. The Retention Coordinator will focus on retention by: developing and implementing specific completion strategies for online, hybrid, and in-person students; supervising and training Student Success Coaches and Peer Mentors, and by providing success coaching for students on SAP Warn, part-time students and first-time fall and spring semester students.

Job Duties:
Duties to include, but not be limited to:
• Develop and implement retention support programs.
• Track data and provide reports to the Project Director and Chief Student Affairs Officer.
• Monitor retention data, lead improvements, and promote successes.
• Collaborate with instruction, and other appropriate college departments, in developing and delivering student retention services and student success courses. Awareness of these resources will be promoted through intrusive classroom visits and close collaboration with the Title III Retention Media Specialist.
• Supervise and coordinate the efforts of Student Success Coaches and Peer Mentors.
• Coordinate Success Zone schedule across academics and student affairs and in collaboration with the Director of Library Services.
• Develop retention initiative templates to align retention activities.
• Using Institutional Research reports, direct retention activities as needed.
• Serve as a member of the Student Engagement Committee.
• Provide support to Director of Disability Services for students requiring Letters of
Accommodations (LOAs) and testing services, especially online students.
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree plus 1 year experience or equivalent. Master's preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in student support at an institution of higher education with retention interventions, student success coaching programs, or other student-facing support programs. Some counseling or special education experience is preferred. Understanding of best practices in student support programs and experience implementing new programs. Proven leadership skills. Supervisory experience. Ability to use data to inform decision making.
