Job Summary
Coordinates and supports implementation of a comprehensive “early alert” academic intervention program to improve student retention and graduation rates. Position funded by Title I, Part C federal Migrant Education grant.
Job Location:
Madisonville Community College is centrally located along the I-69 corridor in beautiful rural Western Kentucky, with easy access to Owensboro and Hopkinsville, Kentucky; Evansville, Indiana; and Nashville, Tennessee.
Job Duties:
• Assists director of the Western Region Migrant Service Center in addressing Title I, Part C grant objectives.
• Provides individual and group tutoring across multiple subject areas in varied environments (school, home, etc.) to at-risk students to ensure high school graduation.
• Identifies and recruits eligible students for the Migrant Education Program within the service area.
• Advocates for migrant students to ensure they receive needed academic and non-academic services.
• Maintains records regarding student progress.
• Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, oral, and written skills.
• Demonstrates ability to work with limited direction.
• Provides training support for Western Region school district staff.
• Uses databases and word processing programs effectively.
• Must be bilingual in English/Spanish.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree (related field), and three years related experience, or equivalent.
• Must be bilingual in English and Spanish
