Job Summary

This position provides strategic leadership in data science to develop, implement, and sustain a comprehensive research and analytics framework that evaluates the effectiveness of programs and services. The role leads a team responsible for delivering accessible, high-quality data analysis using both quantitative and qualitative methods, including predictive modeling and survey research.

Positions with the KCTCS System Office located in Versailles, KY are term-contract positions, with the expectancy of continuance based on performance.

KCTCS offers a hybrid work schedule with a requirement to be onsite a minimum of 3 days per work week. Hybrid work schedules are subject to periodic review and may be modified or terminated at any time

Job Duties:

Design and conduct rigorous research studies using appropriate methodologies to evaluate institutional initiatives, student outcomes, and organizational effectiveness.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support systemwide initiatives and to promote the use of modern analytics tools and surveys, fostering a culture of data literacy and evidence-informed decision-making across the system office and colleges.

Lead the development of advanced statistical and machine learning models to identify trends, forecast outcomes, and support student success and strategic planning initiatives.

Supervise and mentor a team of research and assessment professionals, ensuring the delivery of timely, accurate, and actionable insights to stakeholders.

Monitor key trends and external factors in higher education to inform the office’s research agenda and support strategic decision-making and policy development.

Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure that analyses and ad hoc requests are responsive, relevant, and actionable. Other duties as assigned, such as developing and monitoring key performance indicators which integrate external data sources, such as labor market information and student outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's Degree and six (6) years of relevant experience or equivalent 

Preferred Qualifications:

Doctoral Degree or equivalent

Additional Skills Requested:

Statistics, data science or analytics, economics, sociology, public policy/administration, research, higher education administration, or related fields

Supervisory experience, including mentoring and managing research or analytics professionals.Proficiency in handling large and complex datasets, with demonstrated experience in data cleaning, transformation, and analysis.
