Tuition Waiver

All Colleges within KCTCS offer tuition waivers to employees, spouses and dependent children (age 23 or less, as defined by federal financial aid guidelines) for up to 18 credit hours per year (six hours in the fall, spring, and summer) per person at any KCTCS college.

Community Service Day

KCTCS employees receive 7.5 hours of paid time off to volunteer per Fiscal Year (July 1 – June 30). Spend your day-off volunteering and wearing your College's gear making our community a better place!

Institutional Close

All Colleges within KCTCS observe a two-week institutional closing beginning in December, which will include the day before Christmas Eve, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.

Tuition Discounts

KCTCS currently has tuition discount agreements with Morehead State University, Western Kentucky University, and Northern Kentucky University.

Generous Retirement Match

As part of KCTCS, each college offers a 403(b) retirement plan. A 5% employee contribution receives a 10% employer match

Facilities Worker II

Hazard Community & Technical College is seeking a Facilities Worker II to provide support in the Maintenance and Operations unit. The Facilities Worker II will primarily serve the Hazard Campus, Monday through Friday, 2nd shift, 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Review of applications will begin September 1, 2026.

Financial Assistant II

Hazard Community & Technical College is seeking a Financial Assistant II to provide support in the Business Services unit. Review of applications will begin September 1, 2026.

Helpdesk Coordinator II

Hazard

Hazard Community and Technical College is accepting applications for the Helpdesk Coordinator II position. This position will give technology support for evening classes and events. The Helpdesk Coordinator II position will primarily serve the Hazard Campus and the Technical Campus. Shift hours will primarily be Monday through Friday 12:00 pm -8:30 pm. Review of applications will begin August 13, 2026.

Student Support Specialist I (Dual Credit Navigator)

Hazard

The Student Support Specialist I will provide admissions information to prospective students, direct communication between college and prospective students, provide community outreach and provide academic and career counseling. This applicant pool will be reviewed for the Knott, Leslie, Breathitt and Lee County Area Technology Centers. Note: position is funded by grant dollars.

Student Employment - Federal Work Study Program

Hazard

The Federal Work Study Program (FWS) provides funds that are earned through part-time employment to assist students in financing the costs of postsecondary education. Students must contact the Coordinator for the Federal Work Study Program prior to completing an application.

Part-time Lineman/CDL Instructor

Hazard

Hazard Community & Technical College Workforce Solutions department is looking for individuals interested in teaching in the Lineman and/or CDL program. These positions would be part-time positions providing instruction and assistance with testing in our Lineman and/or CDL program. When a position is available, qualified applicants may be contacted for an interview and asked to submit further documentation.
