Salary Range: $50,000. to $52,000.

Contract Term Length: 10 Months

Standard Hours: 37.50

Job Summary

Jefferson Community and Technical College is seeking a full-time Economics Instructor. This position will be responsible for full-time instruction in Economics, both online and in the classroom. This position may teach on multiple JCTC campuses.

Job Duties:

Courses to be taught include (but may not be limited to) Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Introduction to Global Economics, and Contemporary Economic Issues. The Economics Instructor will be responsible for preparing course materials such as the course syllabi, homework assignments, and examinations.
Other duties include but may not be limited to:
• Use Blackboard Ultra for communication and feedback
• Prepares and delivers learning activities to achieve course outcomes
• Evaluate and grade students’ class work, papers, and examinations with feedback as needed.
• Maintain and submit students’ attendance records, grades, and other requested documentation by specified deadlines.
• Maintain required office hours for mentoring and coaching students, success and retention activities
• Meet as needed with supervisors, division, or College, relative to teaching duties and training and development.
• Engage in academic advising
• Participate in course and curriculum development
• Participate in Internal and external community service
• Participate in educational leadership and professional development

Minimum Qualifications:

Master of Economics or Masters and 18 graduate hours in Economics. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Teaching experience at the college level and online teaching experience preferred. Relevant professional experience is preferred.
