Job Summary

This is a part-time adjunct teaching position in the Communication, History, Languages, and Social Sciences Division. The primary teaching assignment is for the Bluegrass Area Campuses and is effective on a rotating basis. The position requires flexibility of scheduling, which may include evenings, weekends, and a variety of campus locations.
These are temporary, part-time, positions used to fill classroom vacancies as needed: days, evenings, weekends and/or online. When a position is available, qualified applicants may be contacted for an interview and asked to submit further documentation. Job Duties:

1. Plans and carries out instruction, instructional activities, and prepares learning materials for special studies.
2. Provides instruction to students in both theory and practice in the particular area of instruction.
3. Prepares lesson plans and maintains records and reports on students’ attainment and progress.
4. Maintains order and discipline.
5. Adjunct faculty will provide instruction in Criminal Justice courses.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or a related field
OR
Bachelor’s degree in any field AND
Work experience in the field or
Kentucky Law Enforcement Council instructor certification
OR
Associate degree in Criminal Justice AND
Work experience in the field or certification in the field 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline of Criminal Justice preferred and at least two years of practitioner experience or field work is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in any of the substantive areas listed with at least five years of work experience in any of these fields is required.
• Must have experience with Blackboard and other instructional technology.
