Job Summary

Part-time adjunct faculty are needed for the Medical Assisting and Phlebotomy classes. This is a part-time position needed for days, evening, weekends, and online. Medical Assisting and Phlebotomy faculty and/or instructional staff must direct student learning and assess student progress in achieving the requirements of the program in the appropriate learning domains. At this time, we are only seeking local applicants only.

Job Duties:

Subject areas include instruction in Clinical Procedures, Laboratory Techniques, Pharmacology, Dosage Calculations, Pathophysiology, Administrative Procedures, and Phlebotomy.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of an associate degree in a related health field with work experience or completion of a Certificate Program with work experience AND be credentialed in good standing in medical assisting, by an organization whose credentialing exam is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), American National Standards Institute (ANSI) or under International Organization for Standardization (ISO 

Preferred Qualifications:

• According to the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), all accredited Medical Assisting program related courses must be taught by approved faculty and meet the requirements according to CAAHEP standards and guidelines. Medical Assisting adjunct faculty and/or instructional staff must be effective in teaching and knowledgeable in the MAERB (Medical Assisting Education Review Board) Core Curriculum content included in their assigned teaching as documented by education or experience in the designated content area and have documented education in instructional methodology. Medical Assisting faculty includes individuals who teach courses specifically designed and unique to the medical assisting program. Instructional methodology education may be demonstrated by documentation of completed workshops, in-service sessions, seminars or completed college courses, on topics including, but not limited to, learning theory, curriculum design, test construction, teaching methodology, or assessment techniques.
• Be credentialed in good standing in medical assisting, by an organization whose credentialing exam is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), American National Standards Institute (ANSI) or under International Organization for Standardization (ISO);
• Have a medical or allied health education or training;
• Have experience related to the profession of medical assisting; and
• Have documented education in instructional methodology
• Phlebotomy Course Instruction ONLY:
o Phlebotomy Certification;
o Medical Assisting Certification;
o Active, unencumbered Kentucky PN or RN license
AND
o 1 year related and current work experience.
