Job Summary

The Advising Ambassador (Federal Work-Study) supports the Academic Advising Center at Gateway Community & Technical College by assisting with administrative and student outreach tasks. Responsibilities include contacting students to schedule advising appointments, updating advising materials, and helping with events and special projects. This role requires strong communication, reliability, and basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, while maintaining a flexible schedule of up to 20 hours per week.

Job Duties:

  • Incoming and Outbound phone calls to students to schedule advising appointments
  • Respond to general advising email requests
  • Create or update documents to support academic advising efforts
  • Assist with events and special projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills and good time management.
  • Dependable, able to maintain an agreed-upon schedule, professional, courteous
  • Able to work well with a supervisor and others.
  • Familiar with MS Office

Additional Information:

This is a Federal Work-Study position. Students must be enrolled in 6+ Gateway credit hours, have a 2.0+ GPA, Satisfactory SAP, and unmet financial need according to current FAFSA.
