Salary Range: 49,000.00 to 50,000 based on experience

Contract Term Length: 12 Months

Job summary:  The Custodial Services Department of Jefferson Community and Technical College has an opening for a Custodial Services Supervisor. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Facilities and Operations, the Custodial Services Supervisor organizes, directs, supervises, and manages comprehensive custodial maintenance operations on the five campuses for Jefferson spreads three counties

Job Duties:

The incumbent will maintain the best environmental conditions possible with special emphasis on safety and sanitation.  This position will provide highly effective leadership and training and preform supervisory work involving assignment and direction of custodial employees in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of buildings, offices, classrooms, restrooms, furnishings, and equipment as well as building entrances and exterior walkways. Train new employees in proper custodial procedures for the use of manually operated tools, electrically powered machines, cleaning compounds, solvents, and chemicals. This position is also responsible for setting work schedules for custodial staff and ensuring all preventative maintenance is met for floors and all equipment, as well as ordering supplies.

Other duties include but are not limited to:

Regularly inspects all facilities ensuring the cleanliness and safety of campus facilities for our students and employees and manages and maintains a high level of quality standards regarding all custodial services the department provides.   

Manages a large inventory of supplies and equipment along with budget management, ensuing strong stewardship or college resources. 

Addressing immediate needs that may arise outside of the work order system.

Train Staff in compliance with Current cleaning standards.

Assist Grounds with snow removal as needed.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

High School/GED, and six years related experience, or equivalent. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference is given to the candidate with:
• Exceptional management and supervisory skills with substantial experience effectively supervising employees in a custodial maintenance operation.
• Understanding and working knowledge of custodial equipment.
• Aptitude and proven ability to effectively manage large groups of employees in a highly diverse environment.
• Training experience.
