Job Summary

Gateway Community and Technical College invites applications for the (Student Only) part-time position of Custodial Services Worker. This position will help with the maintenance and operations of Gateway campuses.


The Federal Work-Study Program provides funding for part-time employment to qualifying students. If you have unmet financial need as determined by the most recent FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), are enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at Gateway and have a GPA of at least 2.0, you may be eligible for FWS. Job Duties:

Work schedule: Flexible around student schedules.

  • Room setup/breakdown
  • Painting
  • Furniture Moving
  • General janitorial

Physical Demands: (with or without reasonable accommodation)

  • Stooping, kneeling or crouching
  • Standing and walking
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 pound

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand and be on feet for extended periods of time.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Capable of following direction and working on their own.
  • Dependable and able to work well with others. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Janitorial, mechanical, and/or painting experience.
