Job Summary
This 10-month Human Services faculty member will be responsible for teaching 15 credit hours per semester in human and social services courses, planning instructional activities, and advising to HMS students. This position will teach in-person classes on our campuses in Northern Kentucky.
Provide academic/transfer advising and assist with student recruitment, retention and student outcome assessment
Plan and carry out instructional activities
Keep abreast of technical changes in the field and update the program accordingly
Participate in professional development activities, professional growth, and institutional service
Engage in various departmental activities, including course development and evaluation, mentoring adjunct faculty, and participation in continuing education/community service
Assist program coordinator with completion of program specific reporting/clinical placement
Maintain records and report of student progress
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum two years work experience in the human and social services field.
High attention to detail, independent, self-motivated, adaptable to fast-paced environments.
Professional and courteous communication at all levels, both internally and externally.
Clear verbal and written skills.
Efficiently prioritize and meet deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word).
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in human and social services field.
A doctorate or master’s degree concentration can be met with 18 graduate semester hours in Social Work, Human
Services, or Counseling, or related coursework, plus 2 years of field experience.
Experience in and understanding with students from diverse populations.
Experience working at the community college level.
Familiar with local community resources and non-profit agencies
