Salary Range: $42,000 minimum salary

Contract Term Length: 10 Months

Standard Hours: 37.5

Job Summary

Faculty responsibilities include advising, committee work and other institutional services, community service, and professional development. The successful candidate must possess a strong commitment to student learning and will be receptive to using active and engaged teaching methods and technology in the classroom. In addition, candidates should demonstrate an interest in the mission of the comprehensive community college concept.

Job Duties:

• Teaching and advising students.
• Service on committees.
• Job-related community service.
• Participation in professional development, including a New Faculty Teaching and Learning Community.
• Using PeopleSoft to post no shows, last day of attendance, and grades according to deadlines.
• Using Blackboard for class instruction.
• Other duties as requested/assigned.
• Specialized assignments may include:
o Teaching dual credit students.
o Teaching incarcerated students online as part of the Prison Education Program.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in English.
• Teaching experience, preferably at the college level.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
