Title: Instructor - Biology (10 month appointment)

Salary Range: $41,000 for 10 month appointment, could be higher with experience/education

Contract Term Length: 10 Months

Standard Hours: 37.5 per week

Work Location: On-Site

FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Summary

Hazard Community and Technical College invites applications for the position of Faculty Instructor - Biology. This position is responsible for teaching 15 credit hours per semester in Biology as well as advising students, participating in course assessment/development, class preparation and participation in meetings.
Initial review will begin May 20, 2024.

Job Duties:

Duties to include, but not limited to:
• Deliver instruction, instructional activities, and prepare learning materials for courses each semester in accordance with approved curriculum.
• Use of technology and learning management systems to support instruction.
• Complete instructional support processes such as syllabi development, course assessments, early interventions, and class organization.
• Participate in professional development and college/department meetings.
• Collaborate with partners for student transition.
• Provides advising and support including students transitioning from high school to HCTC and beyond to a four-year university.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Biology. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Higher education teaching experience desired, preferably at the community college level.
The candidate will also have the knowledge and desire to teach in a learning college environment where student learning is emphasized. The successful candidate must possess computer skills necessary to teach online classes given adequate training and direction.
