Job Summary
Manages the organization's data warehousing and business intelligence platforms, overseeing data integration, reporting, analytics, and data governance to deliver trusted information that supports operational and strategic decision-making.
Positions with the KCTCS System Office located in Versailles, KY are term-contract positions, with the expectancy of continuance based on performance.
KCTCS offers a hybrid work schedule with a requirement to be onsite a minimum of 3 days per work week. Hybrid work schedules are subject to periodic review and may be modified or terminated at any time.
Job Duties:
Management of Data Warhousing and BI systems: The Manager of Database Administration and Data Warehousing will advocate, and demonstrate the value of the data warehouse systems, and importance of Business Intelligence, Big Data Analytics, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence for big data environments. Express ways how these technologies benefits the organization, value of data in making decisions on data-facts, explain ways these technology solutions can solve existing and new business practices, and explore new ways to visualize data from disparate systems to bring data facts to the decision makers and analysts.
Advocacy: Working with all KCTCS department across the organization, provide guidance, show capabilities of data warehouse and big data systems to deliver information, and subject matter expertise regarding current systems and emerging technology. Supports project management guidelines to implement or assist implementing new business solutions, locally, regionally or KCTCS enterprise wide. Ability to communicate key differences between business intelligence, analytic platforms and their purposes to a wide range of audiences.
Performs cross-functional support. Person possesses technical knowledge across multiple IT fields, applications, systems and architecture-tiers of expertise. Must have knowledge in multiple database platforms, multiple operating system platforms, virtual machines and networking architectures (firewalls, NATs, VPN, TCP/IP, cloud hosting). Possess project management, managerial/supervisory, and project budget expense tracking skills. Self-managing, but can also lead adhoc teams to complete the requested task or project.
Third Party Anaytics and data: The Manager of Database Administration and Data Warehousing will work with partners such as Sierra Cedar, Oracle, Anthology (Blackboard & Reach), Salesforce, Snowflake, SignalVine, Ready Education, Archibus, Starfish, OnBase, Handshake and Campus CE to ensure data delivery as needed, ensure staff has corrected any privacy/security issues, and works with the Office of Research and Policy Analysis to validate data.
Technology direction: Monitors current technology trends in (DB) Database, (DW) data warehouse, (BI) business intelligence, big data, data science, (ML) machine learning, (NLQ) natural language query, predictive analytic technologies and (AI) artificial intelligence for big data. Gives expert advice, opinions, guidance, suggestions on future purchases, product direction, budget planning to Vice President, including consultant services needs.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business and four (4) years of relevant experience or equivalent.
