Job Summary
Hazard Community and Technical College invites applications for the position of Public Safety Officer II. The Public Safety Officer II will patrol campus to protect individuals and property, prevent crime, and monitor environmental hazards. This position will primarily be located on our Technical Campus but will serve other HCTC campuses as needed. This position is an evening/night shift position. Hours: 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Job Duties:
Duties for the Public Safety Officer II will include, but are not limited to:
• Patrol campus to identify, document, and escalate risks to public safety, including crime, environmental hazards, crowd control, and property theft and damage.
• Interact with campus community members and visitors with a customer service orientation, such as answering simple inquiries and providing directions.
• Conduct security inspections periodically and make recommendations for eliminating security risks.
• Identify, correct, or report actions or situations which may present a hazard to public safety, physical security, and/or public welfare in and around assigned areas.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma plus 1-3 years related experience or equivalent.
