Salary Range: $$33,150.00 annually / $17 hourly

Contract Term Length: 12 Months

Job Summary

Jefferson Community and Technical College is seeking a candidate for a Security Officer in our exciting fast-paced Campus Safety and Security Department located on the Downtown campus. This is a 1st shift position (6:00 am- 2:00 pm).

Job Duties:

Candidates will be responsible for providing on-going visual inspection by foot, bike, and/or vehicle patrols, completing incident, accident and injury reports as needed and providing other security services in order to maintain a safe, secure campus environment for students, staff, faculty and visitors.
Other duties include but are not limited to:
• Assists with campus crisis situations, with building evacuations, drills, etc. as needed and monitors parking facilities, insuring only authorized vehicles parked in restricted areas; issues citations as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School/GED and one year of Security or related work experience (other Security, Corrections, Police, Fire, EMS, or Military). Strong written and verbal skills are necessary. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows applications is preferred. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license.
