Salary Range: $33,150.00 annually / $17.00 hourly

Contract Term Length: 12 Months

Job Summary

Jefferson Community and Technical College is seeking a candidate for a Security Officer in our fast-paced Campus Safety and Security Department located on the Downtown Campus. This is a 2nd shift position (3:00 pm – 11:00 pm).

Job Duties:

Candidates will be responsible for providing on-going visual inspection by foot, bike, and/or vehicle patrols, completing incident, accident and injury reports as needed and providing other security services in order to maintain a safe, secure campus environment for students, staff, faculty and visitors.
Other duties include but are not limited to:
• Assists with campus crisis situations, with building evacuations, drills, etc. as needed and monitors parking facilities, insuring only authorized vehicles parked in restricted areas; issues citations as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School/GED and one year of Security or related work experience (other Security, Corrections, Police, Fire, EMS, or Military).

Strong written and verbal skills are necessary.

Candidates must have a valid driver’s license. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows applications is preferred.

Physical Requirements:
Regularly involves lifting, bending, or other physical exertions – often exposed to disagreeable environmental elements (heat, cold, dirt, chemicals, etc.)
