Job Summary

Overseeing college-wide scholarship programs implementing procedures for monitoring compliance with donors, grant, state and institutional guidelines to produce quality service for students.

Job Duties:

  • Monitors, processes and supervise the scholarship program to include donor, grant and institutional scholarships. Works directly with BCTC Advancement Office and KCTCS Advancement Office. Serves as chair of the college’s Scholarship Committee. Monitors scholarship committee member performance.

  • Monitors and evaluates scholarship awards and acceptance. Convenes BCTC Advancement Office and Program faculty as needed to ensure effective and flexible awarding practices.

  • Works collaboratively with the Office of Advancement to ensure awarding of new Foundation Scholarships gifted throughout the academic year.

  • Monitors, processes and supervises state KEES and Early Childhood Scholarship. Assist with processing other state aid programs. Assist Associate Dean of Financial Aid to ensure compliance with state standards. Conduct annual audit of state aid programs. Perform reconciliation on KEES and Early Childhood Scholarship. Assist with reconciliation of other state aid programs.

  • Provide counseling and assistance to students regarding various types of educational funding; completion of forms; acts as a liaison for students with other internal and external offices Conduct presentations at high school workshops, on and off campus financial aid workshops, and orientation.

  • Perform financial aid verification, disbursement, authorization, directs loan processing, counseling, and reporting requirements. Resolve individual student issues and conflicts from the KCTCS Student Service Center and/or Starfish. Use individual discretion to implement resolution.

  • Attend Professional Development and Financial Aid conferences and training. Active participation in state financial aid association. Other duties as assigned by the Associate Vice Chancellor, Dean of Students. Associate Dean of Financial Aid, and Financial Aid Director.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and six years’ relevant experience, or equivalent. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and eight years’ relevant experience, or equivalent.
