Job Summary

This internship is intended to provide a student with hands-on exposure to IT practices within a library setting. This experience will allow the student to connect academic concepts to real world computer and server operations while developing professional skills

Job Duties:

  • Respond to and resolve user-submitted help desk tickets for common issues.
  • Help maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, and software licenses.
  • Maintain and update IT documentation and knowledge-based articles.
  • Participate in infrastructure maintenance tasks.
  • Help in managing user accounts and permissions within the company’s Active Directory or similar directory services

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be actively working on a degree within the IT field.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, ability to work independently and adapt seamlessly to fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Skilled in engaging and supporting students from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word).
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must be actively working on a degree within the IT field.
  • Prefer internship be paid through a work study grant.
  • Reliable transportation to travel in between branches required.
  • Previous experience in a community college setting

  • Ability to carry, lift, push, and pull equipment, furnishings, and supplies up to 30 pounds.
  • Push and pull fully loaded (50-100 pounds) book trucks, as applicable to your position.
  • Proper lifting techniques required.
  • Ability to work under pressure, coordinating multiple responsibilities simultaneously, and meet firm deadlines.
