WHY SOUTHEASTERN KENTUCKY?

SKCTC first opened its doors in 1960 with its original campus located in Cumberland, Kentucky. Since then, the College has grown to include campuses in Barbourville, Harlan, Middlesboro, Pineville, and Whitesburg—all in the heart of the beautiful Appalachian Mountains. Multiple campuses enable the College to serve a six-county area, including counties in Tennessee and Virginia.

All campuses enjoy proximity to hiking trails, stunning natural scenery, local wildlife, and numerous outdoor recreational activities. The Cumberland Gap National Historical Park as well as several state parks are nearby. Residents throughout the region enjoy an unusually affordable cost of living.

Tuition Waiver

All Colleges within KCTCS offer tuition waivers to employees, spouses and dependent children (age 23 or less, as defined by federal financial aid guidelines) for up to 18 credit hours per year (six hours in the fall, spring, and summer) per person at any KCTCS college.

Community Service Day

KCTCS employees receive 7.5 hours of paid time off to volunteer per Fiscal Year (July 1 – June 30). Spend your day-off volunteering and wearing your College's gear making our community a better place!

Institutional Close

All Colleges within KCTCS observe a two-week institutional closing beginning in December, which will include the day before Christmas Eve, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.

Tuition Discounts

KCTCS currently has tuition discount agreements with Morehead State University, Western Kentucky University, and Northern Kentucky University.

As part of KCTCS, each college offers a 403(b) retirement plan. A 5% employee contribution receives a 10% employer match

Health Career Coordinator/Student Support Specialist II	Hazard	Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College is seeking two Health Career Coordinator/Student Support Specialist II's to support the Southeast Kentucky Area Health Education Center (AHEC) in Hazard, Kentucky. These positions are responsible for developing and coordinating healthcare career exploration and educational opportunities for middle school, high school, and post-secondary students, fostering interest in healthcare professions and helping build the future healthcare workforce in eastern Kentucky. The Southeast Kentucky Area Health Education Center (AHEC) works to improve access to quality healthcare by enhancing the supply, and distribution of healthcare professionals through strong community and academic partnerships. Serving sixteen counties across eastern Kentucky, Southeast Kentucky AHEC offers a variety of programs and services designed to strengthen the healthcare workforce pipeline. Through initiatives such as health career awareness programs, rural clinical rotation experiences, and educational outreach in local school systems, AHEC encourages students to pursue careers in healthcare. The organization also supports healthcare professionals and communities by providing continuing education opportunities and medical library services through Hazard ARH Regional Medical Center. This position is based in Hazard, Kentucky, and will serve the Southeast Kentucky AHEC region. This is a grant funded position that ends 04/30/2027 with an extension to 2029?
Adjunct Instructor, Computer Information Technology (Temporary Part-Time)	Cumberland	Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College is seeking qualified adjunct instructors to teach online courses within the Computer Information Technology (CIT) program. Courses may include: • CIT 170 – Database Fundamentals • CIT 180 – Security Fundamentals • CIT 144 – Python Programming I These courses will be delivered in an online format utilizing the Blackboard Learning Management System.
Administrative Assistant II/Regular Half-Time	Cumberland	Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College is seeking an Administrative Assistant II/Regualar Half-Time To provide comprehensive support to the Student Support Services/Academic Advantage program operations through communications, outreach, administrative, and student engagement activities. This position assists with the development of print and digital materials, coordination of workshops and campus outreach efforts, and maintenance of program databases and records. The role also supports daily office operations, including inventory management, file maintenance, and general clerical duties. In addition, the position contributes to student engagement initiatives by assisting with events, trips, and workshops, while participating in ongoing professional development to support program goals and continuous improvement.
