Job Summary

Jefferson Community and Technical College (JCTC) is seeking a qualified instructor to deliver high-quality instruction within the Lineman Training Program. This position plays a vital role in preparing students for careers in the electrical utility industry through hands-on training, classroom instruction, and a commitment to safety and professionalism.

Job Duties:

Teach JCTC Lineman course curriculum.
Maintain extensive knowledge of and compliance with the Electrical Utility Safety Rules and procedures.
Maintain the program’s equipment and lab facilities and complete reports for the program.
Recruit and advise students about the job market and the Lineman Program.
Maintain competence in discipline knowledge and instructional techniques and capabilities.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience as a Lineman in the electrical utility industry•
Current CDL-A license
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal skills
Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to represent JCTC’s Lineman Training Center in a professional and courteous manner when engaging with students, parents, and industry partners
Ability to deliver course content using a variety of instructional methods and mediums
 

Preferred Qualifications:

Hold a valid Lineman Journeyman Card
Previous experience in a classroom or instructional training setting

Additional Skills Requested:

Physical Requirements: Regularly involves lifting, bending, or other physical exertions-often exposed to disagreeable environmental elements
